Sasha Sykes is known for her work with acrylics and resins. These highly crafted bookends – exclusive to The Garnered – were dreamt up in the retro 1980s bar at her Dublin studio. This is a Bloody Mary, its deconstructed elements, bold and stylized, suspended in clear resin. Each a design classic and collectable piece of art in its own right.
The new work has been inspired by Sasha’s recent move to the city, relocating from a farm in rural Ireland to Dublin. “I wanted to celebrate the sociability and connectivity of being in the city, so I created a speakeasy as part of my new studio,” says Sasha. “It started off as a bit of craic, to have this little space that fits around 6-8 people, where people could come and have a drink and chat. We know each other in the design community, but you don’t often get to just come together and talk.”Visit Designer Page
