Dorset-based designer and maker Alice Blogg creates elegant, functional and tactile objects from British hardwoods. She works in harmony with the timber, letting its character sing. The tapered shape of this rolling pin is designed to work intuitively with the natural movement of the body.

Alice began by studying 3D design, then came to woodwork via an apprenticeship with a local joiner; in the evenings, she taught herself to make furniture. Perhaps it’s in the genes: “My dad is a carpenter joiner, my granddad was a boat builder, and my great-granddad was a shoe-last maker.”
