Arielle de Gasquet lives and works in Paris but is influenced by the Japanese ceramic tradition. Her hand-thrown pieces exhibit simplicity and restraint. This pale celadon teapot and cup – with a delicate crackle glaze – beautifully balances design and function. Adds elegance to the ritual of tea. As they are handmade, each piece is unique.

Looking to make a vase for her ikebana course she was introduced to a ceramics studio filled with members of the Japanese community – “they kindly said I must have been a ceramicist in another life”.
