Naomi Paul Lighting is in bloom at RHS Chelsea Flower Show
Naomi Paul Lighting, designer of contemporary, hand crocheted light fittings, will be on site at this year’s RHS Chelsea Flower Show. The company was invited to dress the interior of a summerhouse within the show’s Artisan Retreat area, showcasing innovative work from Naomi’s latest collection, In Praise of Shadows. The work pays homage to a 1933 essay by Japanese writer Jun’ichirō Tanizaki, and explores the dichotomy between eastern and western ways of seeing.
As Naomi designed the collection, she focused on how hand-crafted textiles coupled with light can create a tranquil atmosphere within a space. These pieces, like all her work, use local materials and biodegradable packaging, keeping sustainability in mind. Expect to see Naomi in residence at what is set to be an oasis of calm among the crowds.
RHS Chelsea Flower Show runs from 23 May to 27 May, rhs.org.uk
