This Rococo pattern, replete with bucolic charm, is named after Madame Pompadour – Antoinette Poisson – herself. A mistress and advisor to Louis XV, she was a patron of philosophers including Voltaire, and a major force behind the evolution of the decorative arts. This iconic design is an ode to her life at the centre of France’s Age of Enlightenment. Inspired by 18th-century textiles, its intricate details and rich pigments create a striking depth of colour. Available in three elegant hues.

About Antoinette Poisson

Struggling to find what they were looking for, the trio set up Antoinette Poisson in 2012, with the aim of bringing forgotten 18th-century wallpaper techniques back to life. The label was named after Louis XV’s mistress Madame de Pompadour, adopting the middle and maiden names of the 18th-century doyenne of decorative arts.
