London metal artist Ane Christensen is known for modern and highly collectible pieces. This small brass Crumbling Bowl is constructed from a spun hemisphere form into which Christensen drills holes with precision, before the patination and waxing process. The edge is burnished to allow the metal colour to shine through. Part of a limited edition series for The Garnered, the Crumbling Bowl is an invitingly tactile object that softly tilts to reflect the maker's interest in shifting balance.
"I come from the Scandinavian school of thought, - where form follows function. I am not a natural provocateur but changing the scale of my work liberated me and made me excited about the sculptural element of my practice."
