Hand-Crafted Small Ceramic 'Gathering' Bowl - Tresness

Edinburgh-based ceramic artist Frances Priest has created this series of little bowls exclusively for The Garnered. The pattern and colours are inspired by the dramatic weather-filled beaches of the island of Sanday, one of the Orkneys. The turquoise hues of 'Tresness', partnered with whites and greys, reference the sea shallows and the white sand, turned grey by the lapping tide. Themselves collectable, Priest sees these bowls as collecting - or 'gathering' - places for precious things.
