Antoinette Poisson is named in homage to the Marquise de Pompadour who was a great celebrator of the decorative arts of the 18th century. The fabrics and materials designed by the Parisian studio are inspired by the patterns and designs of that era and create interiors that are sumptuous and original. This papier mâché lampshade with “Odile” pattern is part of the Ruth Ribeaucourt x Antoinette Poisson collection.

Struggling to find what they were looking for, the trio set up Antoinette Poisson in 2012, with the aim of bringing forgotten 18th-century wallpaper techniques back to life. The label was named after Louis XV’s mistress Madame de Pompadour, adopting the middle and maiden names of the 18th-century doyenne of decorative arts.
